You’ve realized that the receptionist has not been keeping and accurate track of incoming messages for you, not good for best home businesses. What should you do?

 
Remind her that there’s a message book provided for that purpose.

Point out all her good qualities, including her excellent memory and hope she remembers to write down future messages like she is supposed to.

Tell her what an outstanding job she is doing in answering the phone, she’s pleasant and does a great job of answering questions. Ask her to continue those tasks in her pleasant manner, that she’s an asset to your business. Then ask if she can expand her expertise by writing down in the message book each and every person and their contact information so that you can continue the great relationship that she has started.

All of the internet is awash with “social” marketing. The best home businesses are still using making money ideas like free classified advertisements. With enough effort out there, you should be able to do some financial retirement planning.

While you may not think this is the most elite marketing idea, a classified advertisement of mine that was placed nearly six months ago showed up in one of my online searches for business information.

The classified ad was placed before “keyword” was in my vocabulary. Don’t you know that more classifieds of mine will start showing up sooner, now that they will be written with my “keywords” in them.

The last answer was the most correct. I’m not saying to lie to her, but point out the good things, don’t worry about the past, but be sure to tackle the problem with tact.

When you feel the need to reprimand someone, think of a way to perform your unpleasant task, while giving your associate or employee a way to save face.

Much of the world’s population does not remember in the early 1960’s when the world came to it’s close encounter with another world war.

In a minute, two world leaders with the power to destroy each others governments and millions of innocent civilians face off and save face.

All of the internet is awash with “social” marketing. The best home businesses are still using making money ideas like free classified advertisements.

While you may not think this is the most elite marketing idea, a classified advertisement of mine that was placed nearly six months ago showed up in one of my online searches for business information.

The classified ad was placed before “keyword” was in my vocabulary. Don’t you know that more classifieds of mine will start showing up sooner, now that they will be written with my “keywords” in them.

You may have read about the 1962 Cuban missile crisis in your studies about history.

For those of us who remember the early sixties, it wasn’t all about rock and roll.

It was a frightening time filled with neighbors who secretly built bomb shelters, and, in addition to fire drills at all schools and public buildings, there were bomb drills.

I remember, being in a daylight basement level classroom, the protocol. We went to the side of the classroom where the building foundation was, and crouched there with our arms protecting our heads.

Whispers of “you know, nothing would save us if it happens” were scary, because we knew that it was probably true.

President John F. Kennedy, during a short period of time, negotiated with the Soviet Union’s Nikita Khrushchev over the Soviet’s installing long range nuclear missiles in Cuba.

They figured out how to save personal, national and international face, and avoided a dreaded world nuclear holocaust.

Russian missiles were removed from Cuba, U.S. missiles were removed from Turkey, and the U.S. (Kennedy) assured Krushchev that the U.S. would not invade Cuba, which was why Cuba’s Castro had elicited help from the Soviets for in the first place.*

In this case, saving face also meant saving lives.

It is the best example of “saving face” on both sides that I’ve ever known.

Carol, your accountant, has a habit of running late with everything she does, including my bookkeeping with all my making money ideas ready to go down the drain.

You are in danger of getting fines from the Internal Revenue Service as your annual income tax return is due in just one week.

Should you:

1. Go in to Carol’s office and demand that if she causes you to pay penalty and interest to the government, with the money coming out of your financial retirement planning account, you will fire her.
2. Bribe her with lots of coffee, sweet treats and a bouquet of roses, checking on her every fifteen minutes for the rest of the week.
3. Ask her what you can do to help her keep on track.

When you are looking at the best home businesses for your own business look at going in with a large company and just doing online sales only.

Find your company on the internet, and look for a well seasoned company at least four or five years in existence.

Next, make sure they use direct sales marketing with a dual compensation plan, and…very important, that they offer training.

Training, not just a lot of product literature, to read, although of course, you need to know the product in order to sell it.

Training options for the best business opportunities should include, on and off line (internet) training, workbooks, real time online and telephone conferencing, and video training.

Now, back to your problem with Carol.

The last answer is the correct one. Do like Dale Carnegie suggests.

After a conference with associates, I am having a one on one conversation with Suzette.

“You know, back in the day, I used to wear my most comfortable old blue jeans with a nice tank top and my newest hoodie to these things.

There are many ways that people have used to describe direct sales marketing.

Someone walks into your office with way too much perfume or cologne.

What do you do?

1. Plug your nose and walk as far away from the person as you can get?
2. Say, wow, I smelled your perfume/cologne five minutes before you got here?
3. In an unobtrusive way, either open the windows or spray a little Febreze around the room?

Life is all about choices.

When choosing which will work best in your best home businesses which would you do?

1. Open a storefront business, deal with inventory and employees every day?
2. Work at home in a service business and work by the hour?
3. Work at home but online with no inventory, no employees, and opt for a parent company that has lots of making money ideas , uses direct sales marketing and has a dual compensation plan for your work at home, and trains you with something besides their product literature?

Really.

Number one costs a whole lot of money to really do it right. Go talk to your banker and be prepared to do a whole lot of paperwork. Be in debt for at least ten years. Unless you are a marketing genius, and you just might be, no offense intended.

Number two, you might as well go back to work for someone else.

Number three is better, but be sure to look for a company that utilizes those sales and compensation plans and the training mentioned. And look for notarized affidavits from the winners. And be prepared to be able to work in your pj’s, reclined back in your favorite easy chair.

Really. You don’t think I’m sitting at a desk all day, do you? And, sitting here in my recliner, I’m also following some making money ideas and doing some financial retirement planning.

Going it alone out there in your own business without guidance or a working knowledge of and a college degree in marketing is a tough way to go, not good as far as small business ideas go.

Plus, a dual compensation plan gives your own business a faster start at earning income. The residual income takes the earn by the hour thing out of the picture.

About that perfume/cologne thing–Choices in how we deal with people are also crucial in life.

Emergency Medical Technicians in their beginning training learn to use what’s called a backboard. The backboard is a piece of equipment that a patient is placed on and strapped in.

The backboard’s purpose is to keep the patient’s spine stable, steady, for transport to a medical facility.

What’s tricky about learning to use this vital piece of equipment, is that even though it’s fairly straightforward to get the patient onto the board and seems easy enough to get the straps down, if the straps are not tight enough, the patient can sustain further injury during the ride in the ambulance, helicopter, boat or airplane.

In the Nenana Volunteer Fire Department, notice the word “volunteer”. There is only one paid employee in the department.

It is vital to the service to the community that volunteers are encouraged to get training and respond when the 911 emergency calls come in.

Even though the training is in exchange for volunteer service, it is vital that the volunteers are willing to respond. Criticism in the wrong tone can cause severe consequences in availability of manpower.

While learning to use a backboard, volunteers are always praised for their learning how to lift and lower their patient into the backboard. They are also praised for learning how to use all the fasteners.

When, in the training session, the volunteers are loading the patient on the backboard into the vehicle, there is always a point when the backboard is not perfectly level.

In fact, getting this patient and the large board into a vehicle usually involves tipping a patient either sideways or tilted forward or backward by as much as 45 degrees.

Inevitably, this patient slips visibly to one side or another of the backboard.

That’s when the volunteers realize, and learn by demonstration, that they need to fasten those straps very tight.

The instructor does not need to utter a word of criticism.
